1. Fruits: Fruits are a great way to introduce natural sweetness and essential vitamins.
What to Offer:
- Banana: Mashed or cut into long, rectangular slices for easy holding.
- Mango: Soft, ripe mango slices or mashed mango.
- Avocado: Mashed or cut into soft, baby-friendly pieces.
- Seasonal Fruits: Papaya, pear, apple (steamed and mashed), or mushy fruit bowls.
How to Serve:
- Cut fruits into long, rectangular pieces to prevent choking.
- Avoid round shapes like grapes or berries.
- Offer mashed fruits for beginners or as finger foods for self-feeding.

- Lentils (Dal): Soft, cooked, and mashed lentils. Can use sprouts to increase nutritional content.
- Meat (Optional): can be started around 7- 8 months . Start with clear soups for few days (introduce slowly and watch for allergies). Then go ahead with mushy/ minced meat.
How to Serve:
- Make Khichdi with Rice or Millets. Can add Seasonal Veggies
- Mash or puree proteins to a smooth consistency.
- Can add pinch of salt to freshly cooked meals and natural spices like cumin heeng haldi and dhania powder .
4.) Grains and Cereals: Grains provide energy and are a great base for meals.
What to Offer:
- Rice: Soft, cooked, and mashed rice.
- Wheat Flour OR Ragi Flour: can roast in ghee and add Fruits/Dates Puree .
- Sooji, Oats, Samak Rice, Jowar Dalia: For Sweet- Add Fruits/Dates AND For Savoury- Add Mashed Vegetable with mild spices and ghee
How to Serve:
- Cook grains until soft and mashable.
- Mix with breast milk or cow milk or water for a smooth texture.

- Avoid adding white sugar
