Why not all these and only few vaccines are given in govt health center free of cost?

Vaccine schedule available in every country depends on need and timing of various vaccines for that population depending on disease burden, cost and logistics along with availability of safe and effective vaccine ( Most Important).

In India, currently two kinds of vaccination schedule are available…

1. National Immunization Schedule…given by Govt at Health center free of cost! Includes bare minimum vaccine which is the right of every child to receive. These vaccines are for diseases which are major causes of under 5 childhood mortality in India ! …so designed as public health as focus.
2. IAP Immunization Schedule…this includes many additional vaccines which are needed and are available.

This is designed keeping an individual child as focus, irrespective of cost involved. As a parent you are expected to know about these schedules to help you take best possible decision for your child.
